Can Acupuncture Help My Condition?

A VERY common question is, ‘Can Acupuncture treat my condition?’….

A VERY common answer is, ‘Yes, acupuncture is effective for treating most disorders or imbalances in the body.’  In fact, acupuncture treats everything that a western doctor treats but we treat it naturally using acupuncture and chinese herbs.  As a standard when you go to see your acupuncturist, you will sit down with him or her and go over the new patient intake form which allows the acupuncturist to look through each and every system of the body to see any areas of imbalance.  A great acupuncturist will be able to quickly sift through the information and notice the problem areas right away.

Does Acupuncture treat emergencies?  No..you will be referred to the emergency room or told to call 911.

Does Acupuncture treat cancer?  Acupuncturists can be on a team with doctors who help a cancer patient, but we do not treat cancer alone.  With the assistance of the oncologist and other doctors, acupuncture is highly effective for dealing with symptoms related to cancer.  It can also help the body to rebuild cellular tissue which means old, toxic, cancerous cells dying off, while new fresh cells form.

Can my Acupuncturist be my primary care provider?  Not in Colorado.  Many people will use their acupuncturist as their main source for health and go to the western doctor as needed for emergencies, necessary surgeries and necessary medication.

Can my Acupuncturist bill my insurance?  Yes, as typical there are many acupuncturists that are in-network with insurance companies such as United Health, Cigna, Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

So, what does acupuncture treat anyway?  There is such a long list, but here it is.  Lets simplify this by listing it within its appropriate system:

Acupuncture for Psychiatric Disorders:

-Anxiety

-Depression

-Bipolar

-Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

-Mania

-Cloudy Headedness

Acupuncture for Digestive Disorders:

…and the list goes on and on.  So, if you are wondering if Acupuncture can treat your condition, the answer is typically YES!  But when shopping around for an acupuncturist, feel free to give a call to ask all of the necessary questions and make sure that you feel comfortable with your acupuncturist and it is a good fit.
